Pattern has polled UAE online shoppers to assess changes in their behaviour, which online channels they will favour in 2022, as well as some more detailed analysis of their Amazon buying habits.
This report shares findings from the research:
- Online spend to rise substantially
The majority of online shoppers expect to spend more buying online in 2022 compared to previous years.
- Cross-border purchases
89% of online shoppers bought something online that was shipped from overseas in 2021.
- The start of the shopper journey
Related to the above point is the importance of Amazon when online shoppers are researching purchases. What they find on Amazon will have an impact on their perception of product choice and prices in other channels too.
- Prime position
One other interesting trend is the high percentage of Amazon shoppers who report they have access to Amazon Prime. 67% have access to their own or someone else's account.
